This project is an ongoing learning experience, designed for me to keep learning how to defeat common security practices implemented in anti-code executing environments, such as signature detection, RDATA manipulation and other various generic anti-malware detection methods employed by the Valve Anti Cheat system. I have been doing this since 2001 and haven't stopped, it's just something I do to keep my skills sharp in my down time.
This project was originally created to circumvent the anti-cheat detection methods the PC game Grand Theft Auto V was meant to implement around an existing solution called ScriptHookV. The idea was that cheat developers who've already implemented their cheat using the SHV natives.h would just recompile their cheat with my base, and everything else would be handled by me. However, this turned out to be an ineffective method of bypassing their anti cheat system, since Rockstar eventually moved from Module-based detection to heuristical-based detection, and all cheats calling the natives directly through Rockstar's interface could be detected. I decided to stop supporting this project because of lack of interest.
Instead of asking me technical questions, the lead developers at System Automation issued me 3 coding challenges. There was no time limit. I completed the 3 challenges in less than 2 hours.
Challenge 1: Use bitwise operations to give all possible permutations of a**b given any arbitrary number of asterisks. Example: a**b must produce a00b, a01b, a10b, a11b
Challenge 2: Use recursion to find all the possible outputs of a 1 or 2 inch process. For example, a distance of 3 inches can be covered in three ways: step-step-step, step-jump, and jump-step.
Challenge 3: Identify problems in the following code and fix them. Use best database and Java practices.
Let's start with how did I discover all this? The fact is that from early childhood I loved Half-Life 2 as a game, and since December 2009 I started digging into the files of this very game, being still a small child who does not understand how everything works. Before ssdk2013 appeared, I was content with the source codes of the engine and games of 2007 merged into the network, but with the appearance of their current base, I also decided to dig into their server code and rewrite those moments that I did not like there.
