A lack of Saturday night plans saw me listening to the dutch WebSDR this evening and it wasn’t long before I saw lots of people talking about new mystery buzzing sounds on the shortwave bands.
Some investigation, and I should add not a lot, I basically followed the frequencies everyone posted, revealed a whole series of new buzzer type signals across the spectrum. 5 to be exact so far.
The Russian buzzer is on 4625 doing its thing but there’s 5 new additions on 4486, 5523, 5710, 7499 and 8853KHz USB.
They’re all virtually identical with what sounds like some sort of data mode underneath and one of them has a different speed than the rest.
Take a listen.
So, what’s going on? What’s brought these 5 new oddities to the airwaves this evening? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
